CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT TIMES
Check-in is possible from 2 PM at the Hotel Amba. In order to guarantee that the rooms are perfectly clean for new guests, we would like to ask you to check out before 11:30 AM. Please refer to our general terms and conditions for additional details. Temporary luggage storage at the reception is possible.
HOTEL PARKING SPACES
A private parking lot in the center of Munich is rare and a special thing to have, which is why we are especially happy that we are able to offer our guests this service here at the Hotel Amba. Especially if you are arriving with your family, if you have to get up early for an appointment in the morning, or if you require your vehicle for business purposes in the city, a parking space is a great advantage. A parking space at the hotel costs €15 per night and vehicle.
BREAKFAST
Start your day with something special thanks to our large warm & cold breakfast buffet. Our quality products offer food and beverages for any taste. In addition to fresh bread and various types of sausage cuts, cheese, and spreads, you will find delicious juices, cereals, yogurt and more. We offer freshly delivered fruits, hot coffee, different kinds of tea, and sparkling wine. Breakfast is available daily between 6:15 AM and 10:30 AM in our breakfast room and costs €11,50.
PETS
Guests are welcome to bring their pets to the Hotel Amba. Feel free to bring your four-legged friend, because you can enjoy the comfort of our hotel together with your pet. Munich is an especially green city with a uniquely beautiful surrounding area. The pedestrian zone in the inner city and the many parks, such as the English Garden, and the shores of the River Isar are perfect for long walks.

History of the Hotel Amba
Published in the Bavarian daily newspaper “Münchner Merkur” on 18 June 1955:
“The new building of the Hotel “Amba” in the Arnulfstraße 20 has recently been finished. The six-story building’s brick-red facade shines brightly. The ground floor is home to shops in between which you will find the entrance to the hotel lobby, which is adorned with Italian manufactured marble.”
At the time of this article, Alfred Baumann starts running the hotel and gives it the name “Amba”, which is derived from the landlord’s and his wife’s first names “Alfred” and “Mathilde” and their last name, “Baumann”.
The Hotel Amba team proudly looks back on a history of more than 50 years full of memorable moments. We are proud of what our hotel has become and how it has developed throughout the decades. Several renovation projects made sure that the building would always meet the contemporary taste of the respective epochs. The modern, tasteful atmosphere of the Hotel Amba elegantly mixes with the vintage charm of days gone by. Many things have changed – the personal atmosphere, however, has remained.
The Hotel Amba also has an exercise room, which was added a few years ago. It gives our guests the opportunity to get some physical exercise without leaving the house.
